Tangerang, September 16, 2025 – Aerotrans, a subsidiary of PT Aerowisata under the Garuda Indonesia Group, officially handed over five electric vehicles to Garuda Maintenance Facility (GMF) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. This handover marks a concrete step by the company in supporting GMF’s operational efficiency while demonstrating a shared commitment to the government’s zero emission program.
The electric vehicles will be utilized to support GMF’s operational mobility within its working environment, particularly for daily activities that require highly efficient and environmentally friendly transportation. The choice of electric vehicles as part of the operational fleet is based on quality, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly technology that aligns with the needs of the aviation and aircraft maintenance industry.
This initiative is in line with the sustainability strategies of both Aerotrans and GMF to contribute to reducing carbon emissions. The presence of five electric vehicles within GMF’s operations is expected to create greener, more eco-friendly, and efficient workflows. Beyond supporting daily mobility, this step also serves as a tangible contribution by Aerotrans and GMF in driving the aviation industry towards more sustainable and environmentally conscious practices.
GMF warmly welcomed this support as a form of synergy between entities within the Garuda Indonesia Group. The electric vehicles will strengthen GMF’s internal transportation system while reinforcing the company’s efforts to uphold green operations and sustainability principles.
This initiative is also part of Aerotrans’ roadmap to expand the use of environmentally friendly vehicles, both for internal needs and transportation services for partners. Through this contribution, Aerotrans and GMF aim to set a real example for Indonesia’s aviation and transportation industries in accelerating the transition towards clean energy use.
The handover of these vehicles also symbolizes continued synergy in realizing modern, efficient operations that support Indonesia’s broader goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060.
